An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Part Time Pal, the 1947 Hanna-Barbera (Joseph Barbera & William Hanna) Tom & Jerry cat & mouse animated animation cartoon short (produced by Fred Quimby; Tom falls into a barrel of cider and gets drunk, and he is friends with everyone including Jerry, and together they raid the refrigerator, but then Tom sobers up and is back to normal) featuring the voice of Lillian Randolph (as Mammy Two-Shoes). Note that Tom and Jerry is a classic series of cartoons created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The first one was created in 1940, and there as a total of 114 cartoons through 1957. Seven of these won Academy Awards for Best Cartoon, tying for most wins with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies. There were around 50 more cartoons created after the first run ended, through the early 2000s, and there were also TV shows based on these classic characters. Some people have criticized the cartoons for their "excessive violence", but actually no blood or gore was ever shown in any of them, and this type of violence is commonly referred to as "cartoon violence". Many of the Tom and Jerry cartoons are extremely clever and make wonderful use of music. They are not nearly as appreciated today as they should be, but in their day, they were among the most popular cartoons of the 1940s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and separation in the top quarter of the vertical fold, with minor wear on the other folds and in the borders. There were pencil marks on the back of the bottom center that show through to the front. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer left alone the pencil marks at bottom center, although they could easily be touched up without re-backing the poster. Learn More about condition grades
