An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Falcon in Mexico, the 1944 William A. Berke south-of-the-border detective mystery crime film noir ("Original screen play by George Worthing Yates & Gerald Geraghty"; "Based on the character created by Michael Arlen") starring Tom Conway (in the title role as The Falcon), Mona Maris, Martha Vickers, Nestor Paiva, Mary Currier, and Cecilia Callejo. Note that this is one of twelve movies that starred Tom Conway as The Falcon. In the first three movies, George Sanders (who had previously played "The Saint" in a series of movies) played The Falcon, but he apparently tired of the role, and wanted to leave, and instead of ending the series, or having a new actor play the role, he passed it on to Tom Conway in the fourth movie, "The Falcon's Brother" (they played brothers in the movie and in real life they were brothers!) in a clever move, the script had George Sanders' character killed, and his brother, played by Tom Conway, shows up and solves his murder, and becomes the "new" Falcon; and Conway went on to make a total of twelve Falcon movies. Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. There are some 2" and smaller tears around the edges of the poster with most repaired with tape from the back.
