An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43 1/4" [74 x 110 cm]) (Learn More)

an Argentinean "stock" poster created by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for use by theaters showing Ramon Novarro silent movies in Argentina in the 1920s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank space at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good. The poster had a 6" diagonal tear in the center of the top border that has tape on the back, and there is also tape on the back of part of the top of the vertical fold, where there was separation. There is small separation at each crossfold and some minor fold and border wear.
