An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Lobby Card #8 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Boomerang, the 1947 Elia Kazan crime film noir mistaken identity murder thriller ("It comes back at you again and again!"; "20th Century-Fox Sensation"; "Based upon an article by Anthony Abbot, published in the Reader's Digest"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck; based on a true story of a priest being murdered in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1924; the police located a drifter nearby, and there was a rush to judgment to convict him of the crime, even though there was a lack of evidence connecting him to the murder; fortunately, a young lawyer in the District Attorney's office becomes convinced of the drifter's innocence, and sets out to prove it; to heighten the realism of the movie, director Elia Kazan gave it a semi-documentary look) starring Dana Andrews, Jane Wyatt, Lee J. Cobb, Ed Begley, Karl Malden, Cara Williams, Arthur Kennedy, Sam Levene, Robert Keith, Taylor Holmes, and William Challee NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed lobby cards that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahoney Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). In the past, we have auctioned many signed stills from Mr. Sorgi's amazing collection, and just a few lobby cards, but in this set of auctions, we are auctioning 156 signed lobby cards, all at one time (we are also auctioning some more signed stills from the same collection)! Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this card is authentic! This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase many great signed lobby cards. Condition: very good.
