Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Not only that, but the only other posters we have ever auctioned were two examples of the one-sheet, and those were 30 years ago! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card had staining and tears around the edges, with paper loss in top left blank corner and tiny paper loss in the bottom right blank corner. It had some scuffs scattered in the blue areas. One of the tears was 5" long and very slightly extended into Barbier's credit. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to paperbacking. Someone had the poster paperbacked with virtually no restoration, except to mend the tears and replace the tiny amounts of paper loss in the blank borders, which was surely done just to stabilize the card. The new owner of this ultra rare card could either display it as it is, or have additional restoration performed, but that will be the choice of the new owner. Learn More about condition grades
