He was born in 1941, and was a professional singer as a boy, who became a pop singer in the late 1950s and early 1960s, appearing in a few movies. He got his big break in 1966 as the star of Michelangelo Antonioni's Blowup (one of the great movies of the 1960s, about a successful fashion photographer who while taking a photo of a couple in a park discovers a possible murder). He had a few more major roles in the late 1960s, but by the late 1970s he had gained considerable weight and he began to play character actor roles. As his acting career diminished, he turned to directing. Aside from some TV appearances he did little acting until 2000, when he played Cassius in Gladiator. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 62 while on the set of a movie in Romania. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
