An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven, the classic 1935 Lew Landers (billed as "Louis Friedlander") Universal horror thriller ("An adaption of Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven"; VERY loosely based on the famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe; about a crazy plastic surgeon who saves a girl's life, but is rejected by her so he mutilates the face of a criminal to have him kidnap the girl after which he promises to restore the criminal's face!) starring Boris Karloff ("The uncanny master of make-up in a new amazing shocker"), Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela 'Dracula' Lugosi"), Irene Ware, Lester Matthews, Inez Courtney, Samuel S. Hinds, Ian Wolfe, Spencer Charters, Maidel Turner, and Arthur Hoyt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned eight 1935 first release lobby cards from this movie in all our years of auctioning, and only one in the last 22 years! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card had paper loss in the center of the bottom blank border, with a 3" clean tear extending up from the paper loss, through the "F" of "KARLOFF" and into the bottom of the image. It had tiny pinholes and smudges around the edges, with just a few entering into the edges of the background. It had some faint smudges and scuffs scattered in the solid colored areas in the image. Someone put some small pieces of clear tape on the back of small border tears and on the back of some of the pinholes and performed slight restoration to the front of those areas, without backing the card. You can see signs of the restoration, mostly in the blank borders, but the card displays well. Learn More about condition grades
