An Original Vintage Theatrical Swedish 9 1/2" x 12" [24 x 30 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Det Sjunde Inseglet (released in the U.S. in 1958 as "The Seventh Seal"), the classic 1957 Ingmar Bergman Swedish fantasy medieval plague metaphysical meaning-of-life-and-death melodrama ("One of the greatest and most powerful European films in a quarter of a century"; "The Story of a Challenge to Death") starring Max von Sydow, Bengt Ekerot (as Death), Gunnar Bjornstrand, Nils Poppe, Bibi Andersson, Inga Gill, and Ake Fridell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was first released in the U.S. in 1958. According to the IMDb, Janus Films (which had been founded in 1956) handled that first release. We have seen U.S. stills from this movie that are clearly vintage, and some have a Janus Films logo on them, and others do not. There are also several different variations of how the title is written at the bottom (just as there are for stills of other movies of this period). We don't know if the ones with the Janus logo predate or postdate the ones without the logo. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good.
