Important Added Info: Note that movie paper from this 1948 re-release is at least as rare as that from the original release! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had some minor creases and scuffs scattered in the image. It had paper tape on the back of the left and right blank borders and faint smudges and tiny stains around the edges in the blank borders, with two tears in the left of the bottom blank border. It had small paper loss in the center of the bottom blank border and a 2" tear above that paper loss. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. Oddly, the person who backed the poster did not remove the paper tape from the back of the left and right blank borders, and they did very little restoration to the above defects (see our image). But the poster still displays nicely just as it is, and certainly, it could be re-backed and additional restoration could be performed. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
