An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22") (Learn More) Pay Day, the 1922 Charlie Chaplin (billed as "Charles Chaplin") silent romantic slapstick 2-reel comedy short ("It's worth a years salary to see - Charles Chaplin in 'Pay Day'"; "Written and directed by Charles Chapin"; which features Chaplin as an expert bricklayer!) starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin), Phyllis Allen, Mack Swain, Edna Purviance, Syd Chaplin, Albert Austin, John Rand, Loyal Underwood, Henry Bergman, and Al Ernest Garcia NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The window card was trimmed of its left 1", and it was folded horizontally across the center three times, each 1" apart. Other than these defects, the card was in pretty good condition. A restorer taped a piece of another window card to the left 1", and then re-created the missing area. They also put tape on the back of the three foldlines and on the back of some tears in the borders, and then did touch up to the front of the foldlines. The restoration is not a perfect match, and you can see a difference between the left 1" that was replaced and the rest of the card, but the card still displays well. Obviously, one would prefer to find an example of this window card that had no defects or restoration, but I do not know how many other examples of this card exist (or if the owners of any other examples would consider parting with them!).
