An Original 1965 Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #7 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (released in the U.S. in 1965 as "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg"), the classic 1964 Jacques Demy French/German romantic doomed romance musical ("For all the young lovers of the world"; "A film for all the young lovers of the world"; "In song and color"; "Set to music by Michel Legrand"; a filmed operetta where everyone sings every line) starring Catherine Deneuve, Nino Castelnuovo, Anne Vernon, Marc Michel, Ellen Farner, Mireille Perry, and Harald Wolff. Note that just about everyone agrees this is a wonderful movie. In addition to the fine acting and writing, the voices were dubbed in, and yet it was done so well that most viewers don't realize this at all (and since all the dialog is sung, this means that the actors did not get to say one word!). Important Added Info: Note that the card has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light blue lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these cards, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s lobby cards, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this lobby card.
