Date Sold 6/10/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical International Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Go Into Your Dance (released in other English-speaking countries as "Casino de Paris"), the 1935 Archie Mayo & Michael Curtiz romantic love triangle musical (about a stage singer and performer whose antics cause him to lose many jobs, and then his sister teams him up with a popular female singer, and they are a giant success, and he opens his own club performing with her with money borrowed from gangsters, and he gets into all kinds of trouble) starring Al Jolson, Ruby Keeler (Jolson & Keeler were the real life couple who were partially the inspiration for "A Star is Born"; in their only movie together), Glenda Farrell, Sharon Lynne, Patsy Kelly, Benny Rubin, Phil Regan, Helen Morgan (the famous "blues" singer who became a cult favorite, but whose turbulent private life caused an early death from alcoholism), Gordon Westcott and Barton MacLane NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only once before auctioned this 1935 first release title card, and that was 17 years ago (but that card had the domestic title, while this one has the international title; see below)! Note that this is an "international" style lobby card (meaning it was printed in the U.S. for use in non-U.S. countries). Note the use of the international title (see above). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has darkened somewhat. It has tack holes, smudges, and some faint stains around the edges, and in the light background areas, and a few within the image. This is the sort of card that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the smudges and stains can be removed through chemical means, and of course, most of the pinholes are in the blank borders, and after proper restoration, the card will look fantastic. Please look closely at our images of the front and back of this card before bidding. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
