Date Sold 6/8/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 5 Undated (probably 1990s) Re-Release Theatrical Mexican Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 13" x 17" [33 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("The master of suspense brings you his masterpiece!"; "Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are NOT regular Mexican lobby cards. They are printed on a different paper stock and are generally in much better condition and much "newer" looking than regular Mexican lobby cards (and the inset images on each card is almost always a great scene!). The ones that have surfaced are also all from "better" movies (many classic movies), and there are only five cards or seven cards in each set. Therefore, we believe that they were almost surely created in the 1990s or after, and likely were sold directly to non-collectors (similar to Portal Publications commercial reprints in the U.S.). However, it is also possible that they were used when these classic movies were shown in theaters, but almost surely in the 1990s or after. DO NOT BID ON THESE THINKING THEY ARE FROM WHEN THE MOVIES CAME OUT! Also note that these Mexican lobby cards measure 13" x 17" [33 x 43 cm]. Condition: very good to fine.
