An Original Vintage Piece of Italian Original Art (measures 27 1/4" x 39 1/4" [69 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Laura, the classic 1944 Otto Preminger (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic love triangle crime film noir ("The story of a love that became the most fearful thing that ever happened to a woman!"; "Adapted from the novel by Vera Caspery"; about a detective investigating the death of a gorgeous woman, and he wishes he could have known her, and then it turns out she's not dead after all!) starring Gene Tierney (in the title role as Laura Hunt), Dana Andrews, Clifton Webb (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Vincent Price, Judith Anderson, and Lane Chandler NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Ercole Brini Important Added Info: Note that this is a wonderful watercolor painting that the noted Italian poster artist Ercole Brini created for an Italian poster on Laura. We don't know which Italian poster utilized this art, but it certainly has incredible art! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that while this artwork could theoretically be rolled in a tube, we think it would be much more advisable to send it in a very large flat package, so bear that in mind before bidding on this original art. Condition: good to very good. The original artwork had a horizontal tear at the bottom center of the image with a vertical tear running to the bottom border from that. It had a few faint stains and smudges in that area and across the bottom of the art. There were several tears scattered down the right border with a few smaller tears in the left and top borders. Someone put tape on the back of the tears described above, but otherwise performed no restoration. One could certainly display this original art exactly as it is, or one might choose to have some restoration performed, but that will be the choice of the new owner of this wonderful art.
