An Original Vintage Folded Japanese "B4" or "speed" Poster (10x28; measures 10 1/4" x 25 1/4" [26 x 64 cm]) (Learn More)

Napoleon, the 1955 Sacha Guitry French biographical France melodrama (showing scenes from the life of Napoleon, with different actors playing him when he is young and older) starring Daniel Gelin (in the title role as the young Napoleon Bonaparte), Raymond Pellegrin (in the title role as the older Napoleon Bonaparte), Dany Robin (as Desiree Clary), Jean-Pierre Aumont, Jeanne Boitel, Pierre Brasseur, Gianna Maria Canale, Danielle Darrieux, Orson Welles (in a cameo appearance as Sir Hudson Lowe), Erich von Stroheim (in a cameo appearance as Ludwig van Beethoven), and Maria Schell. Note that director Sacha Guitry was a major figure of French cinema and French stage plays. He wrote his first play while still a teenager, and did not get involved with movies until he was 30, but then he wrote, directed, and sometimes starred in a huge volume of work, both on the stage and the screen. He was accused of collaborating with the Nazis in World War II, and although he was allowed to work again in 1947, his career was never the same.
