An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 20" x 28" [51 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Careless Talk Got There First, the 1944 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster encouraging citizens to be aware of security risks, and featuring Herbert Morton Stoops art of a dead American paratrooper landing with more paratroopers in the background. Note that this was one of several "hard-hitting" posters with the same theme and same tagline, but with different images of soldiers killed by "loose lips". We have seen two different posters with this exact same title from 1944. This one has great art by Herbert Morton Stoops (and the other has art by Ray Prohaska).
Artist: Herbert Morton Stoops
Important Added Info: This poster is quite unusual in that it fully folds to a size of 7" x 10", and it has return address information printed on the back from the "Office of War Information", so that the poster could be mailed folded up all over the country! When you partially open the poster, you see a 10" x 14" area of the back of the poster that has a message to the recipient overprinted on it (see our image for the text). This printing on the back adds so much to this great poster! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster has minor fold and border wear. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well!
