An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ma and Pa Kettle, the 1949 Charles Lamont hillbilly comedy sequel ("The hilarious sequel to 'The EGG and I'"; "The Further Adventures of ... 'Ma and Pa Kettle'") starring Marjorie Main (in the title role as Ma Kettle), Percy Kilbride (in the title role as Pa Kettle), Richard Long, Meg Randall, and Patricia Alphin. Note that this was a sequel to 1947's "The Egg and I", starring Claudette Colbert and Fred MacMurray as city folk who moved to the Ozarks. They had neighbors who "stole" the movie, Ma & Pa Kettle (a pair of wacky hillbillies with so many kids they couldn't keep track of them), who proved to be so popular that they were given this movie two years after this one (minus Colbert and MacMurray), and this proved so popular that there was a long running series of hillbilly "Kettles" comedies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some extra creases and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges . Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but it was displayed after it was backed, and it faded really substantially, with all the red turning to a yellow color (you can see the restoration paint in the center of the title that did not fade, and that tells you what the original color was). Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
