An Original Vintage Folded World War II Poster (measures 12" x 15 3/4" [30 x 40 cm]) (Learn More)

Poland: First to Fight, the 1940s English World War II (WWII) poster featuring an image of a Polish pilot exiting a Spitfire fighter airplane. Note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that "The Polish pilots formed the 303 Squadron of the Royal Air Corp. They were seasoned pilots at a time when the British were somewhat naive in regards to the German air command. From their first encounters with the attacking German air corp, the 303 broke rank (against orders), diving full throttle into the 'elite' German pack(s). Their experience combined with their hatred of the German military made them supreme killers of enemy aircraft. They showed no mercy (flew extremely close to targets) as they knew what the Nazi's were capable of, harboring no illusions of the horrors they had witnessed and were to come if they were not extinguished. Their skill and aggression were the key factors in halting the German air onslaught in the Battle of Britain. I'm going to guess that the poster was a product of the British Special Services. The 303 pilots were treated like demi-gods by the British public. A moral booster, produced for all the right reasons at the right time. The Polish pilots were held in high regard until after the war."
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.
