An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Mr. Chump, the 1938 William Clemens romantic banking stock market musical trumpet comedy (about a lazy young man who would rather play his trumpet than work; however, he has a stock market system that seems unbeatable, but when some bank employees embezzle money to try it out, they lose everything, but the young man saves the day and wins the love of a pretty girl) starring Johnnie Davis, Lola Lane, Penny Singleton, Donald Briggs, and Chester Clute. Note that Johnnie Davis was a real "swing" record and radio star, a member of Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss and tears at the crossfolds, with a series of tears scattered down the vertical fold and in the bottom horizontal fold, with a 6" tear in the center of the bell of the trumpet. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the restoration along the foldlines. Learn More about condition grades
