An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Andy Hardy's Double Life, the 1942 George B. Seitz Andy Hardy romantic family comedy ("Pack up your troubles! Time out for laughs!"; "Andy's last fling before college is a riot!"; "1943's New Laugh Hit!"; one of the series of "Hardy Family" movies about Andy Hardy, his judge father, and the rest of his family; note that, in the first entries of this series, the judge father and his wife were the center of the movies, and the children had secondary roles, but Mickey Rooney's character quickly became extremely popular, and became the focus of the series) starring Lewis Stone (as Judge Hardy), Mickey Rooney (in the title role as Andy Hardy), Cecilia Parker, Esther Williams (billed as "Introducing Esther Williams Gorgeous Swimming Champ"; she of course was the champion swimmer who made a long series of aquatic swimming movies), Robert 'Bobby' Blake, Fay Holden, Ann Rutherford, Sara Haden, and Susan Peters. Note that Esther Williams was one of those rare stars who became a giant star immediately! She had actually had two tiny bit roles prior to this movie, but MGM still thought it reasonable to bill her as "introducing", and they gave her a giant full-length sexy artwork image on the posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There is surface paper loss at the center of the poster in Rooney's hair. There is an extra vertical foldline 1" to the right of the regular fold, and someone put much clear tape on the back of both vertical foldlines, and they also put tape on the back of tears in the top border and tape on the front of tears in the bottom border. There are some pinholes, creases, smudges, and stains scattered throughout the poster. Obviously, this poster has many real defects, but they are not the kind that are all that difficult to restore. After the tape is removed from the back and the poster is properly linenbacked and restored, it will look fantastic, and there will likely be relatively little paint restoration required in the image areas.
