Open the Door Richard, the classic 1945 William Forest Crouch black African American musical comedy short (about a drunk man returning home and he can't get in) starring Dusty Fletcher (composer of the song, "Open the Door Richard"), Fred Winn, and Stepin Fetchit. Note that there is much conflicting information about this short all over the Internet. Was it released in 1945 or 1947? Was it originally part of the movie "Hi De Ho" and extracted from it? Does Dusty Fletcher and his band perform the title song? Is the title character played by Dusty Fletcher or by Stepin Fetchit? You can find different answers to these questions depending on where you look! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: poor to fair. The poster is in much lesser condition. The poster was exposed to the elements and is stained and rippled throughout. Several of the taglines on the poster were painted by hand. There are other defects that can be clearly seen in our super-sized image. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
