BARGAIN 1sh R18

Lease from Hershenson/Allen Archive

A 1918 Re-Release (titled "The Two-Gun Man in The Bargain") Vintage One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More)

The Bargain, the 1914 Reginald Barker silent romantic gambling outlaw cowboy western (a great story of an outlaw who holds up a stage and is severely wounded while escaping with the money; he is taken in by a rancher and his pretty daughter, who nurses him back to health; when he recovers, he goes on the run again, and a sheriff captures him, and recovers the money, but while they are waiting to take the stage back to where the robbery occurred, the sheriff loses all the money in a crooked gambling casino!; the sheriff tells the outlaw that he is as big a crook as the outlaw is, because he lost all the money, and the outlaw tells the sheriff that he will offer him a deal; if the sheriff will let him, he will steal back the money, but only if the sheriff will let him go free; the sheriff takes off his handcuffs and he goes back to the casino and holds it up; he takes the money back to the town where he is wanted, and the sheriff seemingly double crosses him, arresting him after he turns in the money; but then, the sheriff takes him out of town and lets him go, telling him to get his girl and take off, and that he'll give him a two hour start so he can start a new life!) starring William S. Hart (in his first feature film), J. Frank Burke, Clara Williams, J. Barney Sherry, and Joseph J. Dowling
