(Learn More) Homecoming, the 1948 Mervyn LeRoy World War II (WWII) military medical doctor/nurse romantic infidelity melodrama ("Great M-G-M Drama"; "The stirring story of a dangerous and romantic journey."; "Original story by Sidney Kingsley"; about a married doctor who enlists in the Army during World War II, and who has an affair with a beautiful nurse, and then has to deal with his guilt concerning his wife, who is waiting for him) starring Clark Gable, Lana Turner, Anne Baxter, John Hodiak, Ray Collins, Gladys Cooper, Cameron Mitchell, and Marshall Thompson. Note that Baxter and Hodiak were married when they made this film. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this pressbook, and that one was only in "fair go good" condition! Also note that included with the pressbook is its original printed mailing envelope! Note that MGM created "newsprint only" pressbooks throughout World War II (due to paper shortages). After World War II, they had first continued with similar pressbooks, but they added a cover of better paper stock to them, and this is one of those pressbooks! Also note that this auction also includes the printed envelope this item originally came with! Also note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Finally, note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Note: We have 14 images of this pressbook, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 14 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 4. Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. There is clear tape on parts of the spine, and it has darkened somewhat (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
