An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Knutzy Knights, the 1954 Jules White slapstick comedy short ("Hits a new high in high-jinks!"; in this entry, set in Elizabethan times, The Stooges want to help their friend Cedric the blacksmith marry the Princess, but they must first defeat the Black Prince) starring The Three Stooges (Larry Fine, Moe Howard, and Shemp Howard), Jock Mahoney (billed as "Jacques O'Mahoney"; as Cedric), Christine McIntyre, and Philip Van Zandt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that our consignor was personal friends with Jock Mahoney, and he obtained this autograph from him through correspondence. Mr. Mahoney inscribed it to our consignor and signed it with his real name, Jacques O'Mahoney! He signed it with white artist's paint, because a regular pen would not have shown well on the dark background. Note that this still was glued to a stiff board after it was printed (this was something done by Columbia during this period, as it has a studio stamp and snipe on the back). It was likely a key book still, with an extra 1" at the left that had punch holes, but that area was trimmed off. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.
