Hundreds in the cast!"; "It's the 'Gone With the Wind' of musicals!"; "Spectacular in color by Technicolor!"; "Famed Jerome Kern - Oscar Hammerstein, II Musical"; "From the Immortal Musical Play 'Show Boat' by Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein, II"; "Based on Edna Ferber's Novel") starring Kathryn Grayson, Ava Gardner, Howard Keel, Joe E. Brown, Marge & Gower Champion, Robert Sterling, Agnes Moorehead, and William Warfield (who sings "Old Man River", which had been sung by Paul Robeson in the 1936 version, which also starred Irene Dunne, Allan Jones, Charles Winninger, and Helen Morgan).
