A Linenbacked Advertising Poster (measures 26 1/4" x 42 1/2" [67 x 108 cm]) (Learn More) American Gas, the circa 1950 advertising poster ("Best of the 'Regulars'") promoting the purchase of gasoline, and featuring art of the decorative glass top of a gas pump by Lucian Bernhard. If anyone knows more about this company, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Lucian Bernhard Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a crease with scuffs in the bottom left and a 3" tear in the lower left border, with some scuffs scattered in the bottom solid background area and a tiny scratch in the middle right grey area, and another small scratch in the middle right of the blue area. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
