An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Expensive Women, the 1931 Hobart Henley Depression Era romantic love triangle melodrama (a complicated story of a composer who meets a woman at a party and they have a one night stand, and he falls in love with her, but she meets one of his music students and falls in love with him, which is complicated enough, but the music student is married to someone else that he doesn't love!) starring Dolores Costello, H.B. Warner, Warren William, Anthony Bushell, and Polly Walters. Note that Dolores Costello had been a major Warner Bros. leading actress since the mid 1920s. This was her final starring role, because after this movie, she married John Barrymore, and essentially retired! Also note that this movie was Warren Williams' fourth movie, but his second major role. The advertising for the movie commented on how he was "almost a double" for star Dolores Costello's husband, John Barrymore. That would come to haunt him, because he became known as "The Poor Man's John Barrymore", and while he had a successful career with many wonderful parts, it might have been even more successful had he not been so similar to John Barrymore!
