Note that this movie was clearly influenced by the American movie, "Brute Force". Also note that it was director Jacques Becker's last movie, and that it was finished after his passing. Around 24 minutes were cut from the movie, and that portion of the film is believed to be lost, which is a shame, because those who have seen it say it is an excellent movie.
