An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 13 3/4" x 19 1/2" [35 x 50 cm]; 13 pages) (Learn More)

Dr. Kildare's Wedding Day (released in other English-speaking countries as "Mary Names the Day"), the 1941 Harold S. Bucquet romantic medical doctor hospital crime marriage melodrama ("#8 The Case of the Terrified Musician!"; "Terror strikes their dream of love!"; one of the very popular series of movies featuring this character and his crusty old mentor, Dr. Gillespie) starring Lew Ayres (in the title role as Doctor James Kildare), Lionel Barrymore (as Doctor Gillespie), Laraine Day, Red Skelton, Alma Kruger, Samuel S. Hinds, and Nils Asther
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is larger and more elaborate than other MGM newsprint pressbooks from this time period (we are also auctioning two other similar ones). Perhaps MGM thought this would be a bigger movie and deserve the bigger promotion. It more resembles the pre-World War II pressbooks, except that it is entirely on newsprint (but the posters are still on the back page). It was released in August 1941, before the U.S. entered the war, but obviously, the U.S. was already feeling the effects of paper shortages triggered by the war.

Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was folded across the middle.
