Date Sold 4/4/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Twenty-Four-Sheet Movie Poster (24sh; measures 120" x 288" [305 x 732 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's The Absent-Minded Professor, the 1961 Robert Stevenson Walt Disney science-fiction (sci-fi) fantasy comedy ("The funniest discovery since laughter!!"; "The whole town's jumpin'"; "In fact they're in orbit since the 'Shaggy' Prof invented Flubber [the GOO that flew]"; "All about a scrambled egg head... a flying flivver and Flubber [the GOO that Flew]!"; "The most amazing discovery since laughter!"; "That fabulous 'Shaggy Dog' guy discovers 'Flubber' The goo that flew!" based on a story by Samuel W. Taylor; about an eccentric genius who invents "Flubber", a rubber-like substance with amazing properties, including letting the entire high school basketball team jump far above the basket!) starring Fred MacMurray (in the title role as Professor Ned Brainard), Nancy Olson, Keenan Wynn, Tommy Kirk, Leon Ames, Elliott Reid, Edward Andrews, Kurt Russell (in his first big screen appearance!), "Also those 'Shaggy Dog' Cops" Forest Lewis ("Kelly") & James Westerfield ("Hanson"), and Ed Wynn ("as The Fire Chief"). Note that this movie was in no way a sequel to "The Shaggy Dog", the giant Disney hit of two years earlier, but the movie had some of the same actors and other similarities to the earlier hit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this twenty-four sheet was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. IN THE CASE OF EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, THE SHIPPING COST WILL BE VERY HIGH, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT THAT ADDED SHIPPING AMOUNT, AND INCLUDE THAT AMOUNT IN WHAT YOU BID (so if you would pay $150, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50). And those who live outside the U.S. and who do not have a U.S. address to ship to SHOULD NOT BID AT ALL ON EXTREMELY LARGE FLAT ITEMS, BECAUSE THEY COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO SEND OUTSIDE THE U.S. Condition: very good. The poster has creases along the folds and some tiny paper loss in the upper left crossfolds. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
