It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen)

Important Added Info: Note that this is a MOST unusual poster! If you are a Star Wars fan, then you likely know that for this re-release, a banner was printed in the bottom right of the 1982 re-release one-sheet advertising the forthcoming third movie, and that it is listed as "Revenge of the Jedi", on that diagonal banner, because the third movie had not been re-titled to "Return of the Jedi"! HOWEVER, ON ALL OF THE EXAMPLES OF THIS POSTER WE HAVE EVER SOLD (other than this one poster), THE BACKGROUND AREA IS A BLUE COLOR, AND THE BANNER HAS RED BORDERS AT TOP AND BOTTOM AND RED LETTERING. THIS poster is identical to that poster, EXCEPT for the coloring. You would think that it is simply some sort of test poster (or an error poster) that is missing the red and blue, but the inset image has the exact same color printing as the regular poster, which includes much blue, so the answer is NOT that it is "missing" the red and blue, but rather that it was intentionally printed this way! Why would that be? We don't know but we wonder if perhaps they weren't experimenting with different colors for the background, and maybe they printed various test ones. But we know of no others surviving that are not the standard one, so this certainly is a great rarity. This poster was originally consigned to us in 2019 by a dealer who acquired it when Star Wars was re-release in 1982, so were are certain it is a genuine poster, but there is certainly much unknown about it, although experts tell us that they agree with our assessment that it is a "test" poster (and one very long-time collector says he once had an example of this poster). Now, the poster we auctioned in 2019 for $2,600 has been reconsigned to us for this auction, so it is still the only example that we have ever auctioned!

Condition: good to very good. The poster was roughly handled while it was fully folded and it acquired two slightly diagonal creases in the poster while it was fully folded, which now run down the left and right sides of the image. Otherwise it has a few other minor creases and some minor fold wear (see our image).
