Whittaker"; a wild story of a man who is a newspaper editor during the gold rush in Sacramento, and he crusades to reform the city, but he gets involved with what he thinks is the daughter of a minister, but it turns out she is the daughter of a gambling saloon owner who performs there, and he is found with her, and labeled a hypocrite, and both of them are deported by ship along with a bunch of other unwanted people, and they are labeled the "Devil's Cargo", because they are undesirables, and that is only the beginning of this involved melodrama) starring Pauline Starke, Wallace Beery, William Collier Jr., Claire Adams, Raymond Hatton, and George Cooper.
