An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (Learn More) M'Liss, the 1918 Marshall Neilan silent California Gold Rush crime murder romantic love triangle melodrama ("By Bret Harte"; set in the 1849 Gold Rush, about a young woman whose father is set to inherit a fortune, but he is murdered, and a man who is a schoolteacher and sweet on the girl is blamed for the murder, but everything works out in the end) starring Mary Pickford (in the title role as Melissa 'M'liss' Smith), Theodore Roberts, Thomas Meighan, Tully Marshall, and Monte Blue. Note that this was the middle of three silent adaptations of this classic story, and it was filmed one final time in 1936, with Anne Shirley in the lead role!
