the theatrical release of I Clowns (released in the U.S. in 1971 as "The Clowns"), the 1970 Federico Fellini French/German/Italian made-for-TV pseudo-documentary (Fellini had a lifelong fascination with clowns, and in this movie he blends real footage of famous clowns with some staged sequences) starring Federico Fellini (as himself), Anita Ekberg (as herself), Pierre Etaix, Annie Fratellini, Charlie Rivel, and a slew of other people playing clowns
