An Autographed Letter (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" [18 x 27 cm]) (Learn More) Paul Whiteman was the leader of the big band Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra from the 1920s to the 1950s. He also hosted three of his own TV series and appeared in more than half a dozen movies. His music has appeared in movies such as Rhapsody in Blue, The King of Jazz, Strike Up the Band, and the Fabulous Dorseys. Whiteman passed away in 1967 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: Note that this letter (on Mr. Whiteman's own printed stationery) has been personally autographed (signed) by Paul Whiteman! Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that this auction also includes the envelope this letter was originally mailed in, which is also imprinted with Mr. Whiteman's return address. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
