An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Hollywood Party, the 1934 Richard Boleslawski, Allan Dwan, Edmund Goulding, Russell Mack, Charles Reisner, Roy Rowland, George Stevens & Sam Wood anthology comedy musical (written by Howard Dietz & Arthur Kober) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Jimmy Durante (as himself and as Schnarzan the Conqueror, a wacky Tarzan parody), Jack Pearl, Polly Moran, Charles Butterworth, Lupe Velez (The Jaguar Woman, Jane in Schnarzan sequence, and as herself), Eddie Quillan, Mickey Mouse, Ted Healy (most famous as the person who started The Three Stooges; they were first billed as "Ted Healy and his Stooges"; he let them go on their own, hiring replacement "Stooges", but that did not work out well at all!), Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard, Ben Bard, Ray Corrigan (as Ping-Pong the Gorila), and Phyllis Crane (unbilled on IMDB but an expert pointed out that she is on stills [with a large fake nose] with Jimmy Durante from the "Reincarnation" number). Note that this movie was originally titled "Hollywood Revue of 1933", and it began filming in August 1933. It was intended to be an all-star MGM musical using many of their greatest stars, and Ted Healy and The Three Stooges played photographers trying to get photos of the celebrities as they entered the "revue" (sort of a red carpet type scene). But the film went through many different assistant editors, rewrites, re-shoots, etc, and it took seven months to complete, and by that time, it was 1934, so of course, the title had to be changed, and it became "Hollywood Party". In addition, Ted Healy had split from the Stooges, and they were well into making movies at Columbia! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: You don't see cellophane dresses every day (in fact, you might never see them again), but apparently, the three ladies in this photo are wearing nothing but cellophane, and it is photographed by Clarence Sinclair Bull! Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: good to very good. Someone "rounded" the blank corners and there are some faint smudges around the edges. Otherwise, the still is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
