An Original Vintage Linenbacked Belgian Political Campaign Poster (measures 25 3/4" x 39 3/4" [65 x 101 cm]) (Learn More) Propaganda Fietstochten Der 26 Federaties (literally translates to "Propaganda Bicycle Tours of 26 Federations"), the 1935 Belgian political poster announcing a bicycle campaign by the Belgian Labour Party which took place on October 6th. The purpose of the campaign was to inform people about Plan De Man, an economic policy devised in 1933 by the Belgian politician Henri De Man. The Belgian Labour Party (Belgian Workers' Party; Belgische Werkliedenpartij or BWP; Parti Ouvrier Belge or POB) was the first major socialist party in Belgium. It was founded in 1885 and officially disbanded in 1940 and superseded by the Belgian Socialist Party in 1945. Note that this poster features artwork of a rider on a bicycle with a map of Belgium in the background. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
