After the World War I (WWI), the company was one of Norway's largest shipping lines, owning a fleet that included 19 vessels, several of which were for commercial cargo transport. After the World War II (WWII) heavy ships losses were overcome by the building of new vessels, however the reduction in the passengers' traffic by sea shifted the company's focus mainly to the cargo business, including container and bulk shipping from the 1970s. Artist: Knut Yran Important Added Info: Note that this Knut Yram artwork was used to promote travel to Norway aboard Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), Norwegian America Line cruise ships, and as a stand-alone Oslo travel poster! Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (although it is not very noticeable from the front except in white areas, mainly due to the poster's colors.) It has a few pinholes in some corners and there is a tear in the lower left corner that has been repaired with clear tape from the back. This poster is a good candidate for restoration. It is likely that most or all of the faint staining could be removed through chemical means, and after proper restoration, the poster will look fantastic! Learn More about condition grades
