Date Sold 4/12/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Boston Blackie Booked on Suspicion (released outside the U.S. as "Boston Blackie -Suspect"), the 1945 Arthur Dreifuss Massachusetts detective crime mystery ("A beautiful girl turns killer and Blackie is taking the rap!"; "Blackie traps a new kind of killer!"; "Blackie meets a killer in skirts!") starring Chester Morris (in the title role as Boston Blackie), Lynn Merrick, Richard Lane, Frank Sully, Steve Cochran, and George E. Stone. Note that this is one of fourteen movies made in the 1940s with Chester Morris playing the fictional character "Boston Blackie", a former crook turned detective (there had been ten silent movies made in the 1920s), all of which were based on short stories by Jack Boyle. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is the sort of scene that we will thankfully never see again in a movie (the hero putting blackface makeup on and posing as a black man!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are faint smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the card, with a 1 1/2" crease and pinholes in the right of the bottom border. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
