An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) King Kong, the classic 1933 Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack Africa New York City giant ape fantasy romantic love triangle adventure horror thriller ("'The most awesome thriller of all time' the one and only"; "Not beast.. Not human.... Not devil.. But all three magnified! Raging.. Roaring.. Crushing.. Killing.."; "Strangest story ever conceived by man!"; "Out-leaping the maddest imaginings! Out-thrilling the wildest thrills!"; "See the living, fighting monsters of Creation's dawn rediscovered in the world today!"; "See the death-fight between giant ape and prehistoric dinosaur... the most amazing combat since the world began!"; "See the ape as big as a battleship wrecking New York!"; "Unique..! Thrilling! Startling!"; "From an idea conceived by Edgar Wallace & Merian C. Cooper"; based on the story by Edgar Wallace, with incredible special effects by Willis O'Brien) starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong (as Carl Denham), Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher, and Sam Hardy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card does not have King Kong in the central image (but of course, he is large in the great border art), but it does have an image of one of the dinosaurs from the movie, which were expertly brought to life by Willis O'Brien! Condition: good. There are water stains in the bottom border and in the top left corner. There are tiny pairs of staple holes around the edges of the card and some smudges and faint stains in the parts of the borders not affected by the water stains. There are two 1/2" tears near the middle of the left border. There is a faint horizontal scuff mark starting in the top left, in the background above the dinosaur and running across the background and ending in Kong's shoulder (it just touches the elbow of Fay Wray in Kong's hand). There are some faint smudges and tiny dot stains throughout the image. There was tape on the back of the center of the top and bottom borders, that likely held it in place in a frame. OBVIOUSLY, THIS CARD HAS MANY DEFECTS, BUT IT IS ALSO THE TYPE OF CARD THAT RESPONDS REALLY WELL TO EXPERT RESTORATION! It is likely that many of the stains and smudges can be removed through chemical means, and the worst of the card's defects are in the blank borders. After proper restoration by a talented professional, this card will look great, and there likely will not need to be very much restoration anywhere in the image! Learn More about condition grades
