La Grotte Des Demoiselles, (literally translates to "The Cave of the Maidens"), the 1930s French train railway railroad travel poster encouraging people to use Chemins de fer de Paris a Lyon et a la Mediterranee when visiting the cave in southern France. The Grotte des Demoiselles is a large cave located in the Herault valley, which is named for a legend about a group of mysterious women who save the life of a shepherd who was injured in the cave. Note that this poster was created by Chemins de fer de Paris a Lyon et a la Mediterranee (also known as the Chemins de fer Paris-Lyon-Mediterranee or simply PLM), which was one of France's main railway companies until the nationalization of all French railways in 1938.
