Date Sold 9/18/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage (titled "Yield to the Night") Theatrical Folded English Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 85") (Learn More) Yield to the Night (released in the U.S as "Blonde Sinner"), the 1956 J. Lee Thompson English bad girl murder crime melodrama ("Here she is!"; "That eye-filling gasp-provoking blonde bombshell!"; "The man-by-man story of a lost soul!"; "The Blonde Bombshell who has the whole world popping its eyes!"; "Would You hang this girl?"; "Would You hang Mary Hilton?"; "The man-by-man story of a lost soul!"; "The mmmm mmmm girl who sizzled the headlines and scorched the magazines!"; "Based on the book by Joan Henry"; based on a true life case of a woman who had a series of abusive relationships and then thought she found a Prince Charming, but when she discovered he was cheating on her, she snapped and killed him, and that was changed to the lover's girlfriend in the movie, and it is told in flashbacks, from her cell on death row, discussing the events that led her there) starring Diana Dors ("in her first starring role"; "Exposing dramatic talents as outstanding as her beauty!"), Yvonne Mitchell, Michael Craig, Geoffrey Keen, and Athene Seyler. Note that just about everyone agrees that this was Diana Dors' best movie, and that it has the best posters of her! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie, and that it has a completely different (and very sexy) image of Diana Dors from that of the U.S. posters (which were released under the far more commercial title "Blonde Sinner")! Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie! Finally, note that this English three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: good. The tagline area at upper right has been neatly overprinted (oddly, changing "Mary Hilton" to "this Girl"; maybe the regular tagline was too specific?). There is tattering and some discoloration along the foldlines and edges and there are creases throughout the poster. The poster is in urgent need of expert professional restoration. But the poster is mostly "all there", and after a simple linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will likely require little paint restoration within the image.
