An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10" x 13" Movie Still (Learn More)

Down in San Diego, the 1941 Robert B. Sinclair pre-World War II (WWII) California Nazi spy espionage military Navy sailor Naval battleship romantic melodrama ("Thrill drama of Uncle Sam's great defense base!"; "Based on a story by Franz G Spencer"; about a young man who was involved in a gang who enlists in the Navy, but the gang thinks they can continue to help them rob stuff, and meanwhile, there are Nazi spies that the guy and his girlfriend end up exposing) starring Bonita Granville, Ray McDonald, Dan Dailey (very young and only third billed!), Leo Gorcey (in a rare non-Bowery Boys/Dead End Kids role!), Henry O'Neill and Stanley Clements. Note that this movie was released in August 1941, before the U.S. entered World War II, but it plays like any of the many World War II movies that would soon be released once the U.S. did enter the war.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Also note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL!

Condition: very good to fine.
