eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 9k0024 JAILHOUSE ROCK die-cut 33x59 standee 1957 Bradshaw Crandell art of Elvis Presley, ultra rare! Date Sold 8/5/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Style Y Movie Standee (measures 32 1/2" x 58 1/2" [83 x 149 cm]) (Learn More) Jailhouse Rock, the classic 1957 Richard Thorpe rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) crime prison romantic musical ("His first big dramatic singing role!"; about a young man who is sent to prison for manslaughter, and while there he is helped to become a singer/musician by an older convict, and after he is released, he becomes a major rock star!) starring Elvis Presley ("At His Greatest"), Judy Tyler (who sadly died in an auto accident before the release of the film), Mickey Shaughnessy, Dean Jones, Jennifer Holden, and Anne Neyland NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Bradshaw Crandell Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this cool standee, which has a similar image to that of the one-sheet, but the background is yellow, while the one-sheet has a red background (and so do the other similar posters)! Not only that, but it the ONLY standee from ANY Elvis Presley movie we have ever auctioned, making it an even greater rarity (and of course, it is from what most consider to be Elvis' best movie)! Because the standee was created on a heavy board, it will need to be shipped in a very large flat package that measures approximately 32" x 35" (because it can be folded in half, as intended when it was created), so incorporate that cost of shipping into your bidding. Condition: good. The standee was created on corrugated cardboard and there are some scuffs scattered throughout the image, including some in Elvis' head. There is light water staining in the lower right of the poster, slightly affecting the "k" of "Rock", and a similar stain in the left yellow area above the "J" of the title. There is separation at the left and right ends of the fold. Some theater that used this poster attached a wooden piece to the back of the upper center of the standee and another to the back of the bottom of the standee, no doubt to be partially used in how it was displayed (see our image). This incredibly rare poster can certainly be restored (in a variety of possible ways), so please bear all of this in mind before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
