An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 81" x 81") (Learn More)

The Cohens and Kellys, the 1926 Harry A. Pollard silent mixed-marriage family relationship musical comedy ("An uproarious knockout - a thousand laughs!"; "1,000 hearty laughs. An uproarious riot.";"Aaron Hoffman's Great Comedy Hit"; "From the play 'Two Blocks Away' by Aaron Hoffman"; the first of the hugely popular series of movies about an Irish girl who marries a Jewish boy and their difficulties in bringing their families together) starring George Sidney (as Jacob Cohen), Charles Murray (as Patrick Kelly), Vera Gordon (as Mrs. Cohen), Kate Price (as Mrs. Kelly), Olive Hasbrouck, Nat Carr, Mickey Bennett, Jason Robards Sr., and Robert Gordon. Note that while George Sidney played the same role in all the entries in this series, in 1929, Mack Swain took over the part of Mr. Kelly from Charles Murray, but in all the earlier entries of the series, it was Charles Murray who played that part.

Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at some crossfolds and tears and areas of paper loss on parts of many foldlines and some in parts of the image. There were tears and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed by a talented restorer, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects (but I think the poster displays well, and that the defects that are visible establish that this is an original poster that is 84 years old!).
