An Undated (probably 1949) Re-release (re-titled "Trail of the Hawk" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 28" x 42") (Learn More) The Hawk, the 1935 Edward Dmytryk cowboy western (based on the James Oliver Curwood story) starring Bruce Lane (billed as "Yancey Lane"), Betty Jordan, Dickie Jones, Lafe McKee, and Rollo Dix (in the title role as "The Hawk"). Note that this was apparently a pretty standard western release by Affiliated Pictures in 1935. In 1937, it was re-titled "Trail of the Hawk" and distributed by Jay Dee Kay Productions. At some point in the 1940s, it was again released as "Trail of the Hawk", this time by Sack Amusement Enterprises. But then, in 1949, an enterprising vaudeville performer, Tommy Scott, who billed himself as Ramblin' Tommy Scott (a cowboy ventriloquist who performed with "His Talking Doll, Luke McLuke"), bought the rights to the movie, and added a bunch of footage of himself performing, and also of his family members and some of his vaudeville troupe, and then he would show the movie in between his live vaudeville performances! That surely is one of the most enterprising uses of an old B-western we have ever heard of! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 28" x 42". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
