This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had two extra horizontal folds, with creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of paper loss on all the folds. It had pinholes and a few tiny tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. Unfortunately, after the poster was backed, it was very roughly handled, and it acquired many creases scattered in the upper right and lower right of the image, with two areas of surface paper loss in the upper right, and a 1" tear at the right end of the top fold, and tiny surface paper loss in one of the lower creases. The bottom corners are bent over. Certainly, a restorer could perform additional restoration to this poster, but bear these substantial defects in mind before placing a bid on it.
