An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 24" x 39" [61 x 99 cm]) (Learn More) THX 1138, the 1971 George Lucas science fiction (sci-fi) dystopian future melodrama ("The future is here."; "Visit the future where love is the ultimate crime."; "Story by George Lucas"; "Executive Producer, Francis Ford Coppola") starring Robert Duvall (in the title role as THX 1138), Donald Pleasence, Don Pedro Colley, John Seaton, Johnny Weissmuller Jr., Susan Baldwin, Ian Wolfe, and Maggie McOmie. Note that this was George Lucas' first movie. Some people (including myself) liked it quite a bit, but generally its dark and ultra-depressing theme turned off audiences, and it was not very successful on first release. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is a special "chrome robot" poster (which measures 24" x 39") for George Lucas' first feature, THX 1138. It is printed on a heavy paper stock, and the surface of it is completely chromed. It is from the original 1971 release of the movie, and it was not sent out to theaters in general (theaters showing the movie had to contact a special address listed in the pressbook in order to get this poster). We have only previously auctioned four examples of this poster, and the last one was five years ago. All four of those examples were in "good to very good" condition, because foil posters like these crease and scuff incredibly easily. THIS poster is in clearly better condition than any of those previous four and it likely has survived in about as good a condition as one could hope! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has a few light creases scattered in various areas and some creases along portions of the right edge. There is a pinhole in the upper right and lower corners and there are a few tiny pinholes at upper left. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and, as noted above, it has survived in about as nice a condition as one could hope to find! Learn More about condition grades
