Auction History Result #5015 STREETS OF FIRE 1sh 84 Pare, Lane, Hill Date Sold 1/21/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 40") (Learn More) Streets of Fire, the 1984 Walter Hill rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music romantic action thriller melodrama ("Tonight is what it means to be young."; "A rock & roll fable."; "A Rock Fantasy"; "'Custom cars, Kissing in the rain. Neon, Trains in the night. High-speed pursuit, Rumbles Rock stars, Motorcycles, Jokes in tough situations. Leather jackets and questions of honour.'"; "Written by Walter Hill & Larry Gross") starring Michael Pare, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, Amy Madigan, Bill Paxton, Lee Ving, Marine Jahan (she played a super sexy dancer-stripper, much like what she had done in 1983 for Jennifer Beals in Flashdance, where she went uncredited; she only appeared in one other movie), and Willem Dafoe (in his fifth credited movie role!). Note that the screenplay for this movie refers to it being called "The Adventures of Tom Cody Book One: Streets of Fire", indicating it was to be the first of a series of movies, but apparently, because this movie did not do so well at the box office, there were no sequels! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Riehm Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 27" x 40". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41". Note that this one-sheet came directly from an individual who worked at Universal Pictures in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. He received many samples of posters which he carefully saved. Not only are they in wonderful condition (practically brand new unless otherwise noted), but his collection includes some posters that are extremely rare, and in fact, he may have some posters which were only made as samples and never were generally distributed! Condition: fine. There are some very faint creases within the image area (from rolling and unrolling), but overall this poster is in really great condition!.. Note that this poster was never folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult!
