Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this poster, and the buyer of that poster has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and ink transfer scattered in parts of the light background areas, with a diagonal crease across the middle of the yellow sky background area. It had pinholes in the corners and darkening and a few small tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
